Meditation, Naturally
The Innate, Natural Desire to Go Within
I’ve been thinking alot lately about meditation - what it is, what it means, why it’s necessary. And I’ve realised that my approach to meditation is the same as my approach to spirituality - and to life, in general. As long as it feels natural and I’m following my intuition… Anything goes!
I don’t like being told what to do. In fact, my most rebellious moments are usually after someone has given me instruction - and it’s not because I’m wanting to be obnoxious or confrontational (I hate confrontation!). It’s because I measure everything against my inner compass - my intuition, my emotions, my physical responses - and if it lands, I’m all in! But if it doesn’t, then it’s a no from me.
Meditation is about honing my connection to my ‘inner compass’, because when the connection is strong and clear it’s easier to interpret. It’s also way easier to back myself because I have more certainty around my decisions. Meditation helps to drown out the noise of life whenever I want to have a more direct line of communication with my soul self.
Whenever I meditate, there is always intention. And even when I don’t have a super specific purpose for meditating there is always that innate, natural desire to go within - and this alone is a powerfully healing and insightful phenomenon, even if not entirely understood, and even more so when acknowledged.
Meditation helps to follow the most natural path forward, always - despite the curveballs and the messiness of life. We are creatures of nature; Beings of Earth. Nature is the Master of flow, seasons, elements, growth and balance. Chaos and turbulence are nature’s way of restoring balance and flow, and of actioning rapid growth. When we go within through meditation, we tune into a piece-of-self synonymous with nature. When done infrequently, meditation can sometimes instigate chaos, turbulence and rapid growth as your balance and flow are restored. But when done instinctively, as needed, meditation gifts each of us with our own organic natural path through this lifetime.
I have learned this over many years of trial and error. When I ignore the nudges to go within - when I delay the innate calling - life gets harder. When I’m not consistently conversing with my soul self through meditation, life gets harder. When I lose myself to the noise of life, life gets harder.
Meditation is a non-negotiable because it is how I maintain my most natural, effortless, organic, creative, happy state.
I meditate precisely when and how I need to. I’ve chosen to live my life by feel - creating a degree of freedom and autonomy many will never have the pleasure of experiencing. And without meditation in my life, this would not be possible.
It is the portal to my higher self.
It is the threshold to healing.
It is the gateway to divine communication.
Never a chore; always filling me up with love, clarity, creativity, courage, energy, and so much more. It never takes away, it never harms - ever. Meditation is my dependable, trustworthy ally. It’s like the old friend who is always a joy to catch up with - no matter how much time has passed between visits.
Meditation, my dear friend, thank you for always being there - even (especially!) when I’m not feeling myself, or I’m grumpy or uninspired. I appreciate you immensely. Let’s keep making magic together! x
